What is the eBay international fee?
eBay charges an international fee of 1.65% of the total sale when the delivery address or the buyer's registered address is outside the US and the item is not shipped through eBay International Shipping. On a $50.00 sale that is $0.83, on top of the usual fees.
When it applies
Only when the item does not go through eBay International Shipping and either the delivery address or the buyer's registered address is outside the US. It is 1.65% of the total amount of the sale and is charged in addition to the final value fee, per order fee and any ad fee.
What it adds
| Sale | International fee | Fees without it | Fees with it |
|---|---|---|---|
| $20.00 | $0.33 | $3.12 | $3.45 |
| $50.00 | $0.83 | $7.20 | $8.03 |
| $100.00 | $1.65 | $14.00 | $15.65 |
The practical point
1.65% is small next to the final value fee, but it comes out of the same profit. If your margin on an item is thin, check it with the box ticked: in the calculator it is the checkbox for a buyer outside the US.
Tick the international box in the free fee and profit calculator. It uses the same math as this page.
