Answer · eBay fees and profit

Is an eBay Store worth it for the lower fees?

In most categories a Basic or higher Store lowers eBay's final value fee from 13.6% to 12.7% of the sale. Against a Basic Store's $27.95 monthly price, the saving covers the subscription at about $3,106.00 a month in sales.

The rate difference

Final value fee, most categories, on the first dollars of each sale.
RateApplies up to
No Store or a Starter Store13.6%$7,500
Basic, Premium, Anchor or Enterprise Store12.7%$2,500

eBay charges the Starter Store the same final value fees as no Store, so only a Basic or higher Store lowers the rate. The per order fee is the same either way.

The subscription

eBay's Store selling fees page lists the Basic Store at $27.95 a month on monthly renewal and $21.95 a month on yearly renewal (checked November 3, 2026).

The break-even

The saving is 0.9% of your sales. The subscription is covered when your monthly sales reach the subscription divided by that saving:

That counts the final value fee on orders up to $2,500 in most categories and nothing else.

An example

100 orders of $50.00 in a month is $5,000 in sales. The fee is $7.20 per order without a Store and $6.75 with a Basic Store, so the Store saves $45.00 that month against $27.95 for the subscription.
