What is the eBay per order fee?
eBay adds a per order fee to the final value fee: $0.30 on orders of $10.00 or less and $0.40 on orders above that. On a $5.00 sale it is 6% of the sale; on a $50.00 sale it is under 1%.
How it works
The per order fee is charged once per order, not per item, and is part of the final value fee. The step is exactly at $10.00: an order of $10.00 pays $0.30, and an order of $10.01 pays $0.40.
What it costs on small and large sales

Why it matters for low-priced items
On a $5.00 sale the whole fee is $0.98, or 19.6% of the sale, because the flat fee is a large slice of a small price. By $50.00 it is 14.4%. If you sell many low-priced items, the flat fee is the part of the fee that your percentage-based sums miss.
An exception
Men's and women's athletic shoes carry no per order fee when the total amount of the sale is $150 or more. Everything else follows the rule above.
